Dejan Božić, DMA

Professor in the artistic field of Violoncello

Dejan Bozic graduated from Faculty of Music in Belgrade, with an honorary title “Student of the Generation”, and completed postgraduate studies at the “Staatliche Hochschule fur Musik” in Trossingen – Germany, where he obtained the diploma of “Concerto soloist”. He completed PhD studies at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade. He attained masterclasses conducted by Ksenija Jankovic, Gerhard Hamann, Mario De Secondi, Svetislav Apolin, Michael Flaxman, Roco Filippini and Alexander Fedochinko.

He has been awarded the prestigious October Award of the City of Belgrade, along with numerous first prizes on Music festivals, National competitions for solo and chamber music. He represented Yugoslavia at the “Fifth Eurovision Competition for Young Performing Artists “, in Vienna.

Dejan Bozic performed recitals all over former Yugoslavia, as well as in Germany, Czech, Slovakia, Poland, Greece, Albania, Italy and Japan.

He has performed as a soloist with renowned chamber and symphony orchestras in Serbia, N.Macedonia, Bosnia and Hercegovina and Austria.

He is active as both a chamber and orchestral musician, performing a varied repertoire from Baroque to Contemporary music. He was a principal cellist of “L`Orchestre des Jeunes de la Mediterranee”, Vojvodina Philharmonic and Belgrade Philharmonic orchestras, “No Borders” Symphony and Chamber orchestra, “Belgrade Soloist”, “Zebeljan”, “Academia Concertante”, “Skovran” chamber orchestras, and visiting principal of Montenegro Symphony orchestra and Tongyeong Festival Orchestra” – Korea.

He has conducted masterclasses throughout Serbia, Montenegro, Bosnia and Greece. He is regular jury member at national and international competitions both in Serbia and across the region.

Bozic currently holds a position of a cello professor at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade and University of East Sarajevo. He was a professor of cello at Academy of Arts in Novi Sad and Academy of Arts in Nis.

He has recorded for “Deutsche Grammophon/Universal” Austria, “Oboe Classics”, “FMR Records” London, “Jugokoncert”,” Mascom records” Belgrade and “Chopin” Japan.
