Department of Musicology
Musicology module offers students a comprehensive music education with wide possibilities for the choice of the profession, within the framework of the Music Science study program. While the classes are held in groups, each student is nevertheless supervised individually through mentorships in seminar papers, master and PhD thesis, enabling the students to develop professional competencies in diverse scientific fields. Through an interdisciplinary approach characteristic for musicology, they are empowered for creative, individual research work or participation in research projects. By applying and integrating acquired contemporary knowledge of scientific research and theory, students develop skills for interpreting complex contextual musicological issues by applying scientific methods.
Musicology module is in line with European standards for enrollment, duration of studies, requirements for advancement to the next study year, diploma acquisition and manner of study.
The professional title gained upon completing the master academic studies is master in art theory.
