Press Release

The Electoral Council of the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade fully supports the demands of the students, adopts them as its own, and accordingly decides to continue the suspension of classes and exams at all levels of study until the end of student blockades.

This decision continues the unequivocal support for the students and their legitimate demands, which the Teaching-Artistic-Scientific Council of the Faculty has supported since the first days of the blockade.

Therefore, the Electoral Council requests the publication of all key documents of public importance, identification and sanctioning of those responsible for violence against students, and the cessation of criminal proceedings against students if they are pursued solely for their participation in protests. Faculty staff wholeheartedly support not only the students’ demands but also the societal concepts they advocate for.

We believe that any form of physical or other violence is unacceptable. The ongoing media campaign aimed at targeting members of the academic community creates an atmosphere of aggressive targeting and gives the impression that violence against students and professors is permitted. Therefore, we demand an immediate cessation of such treatment. It is crucial because, for all of us, top-quality education and culture represent the highest degree of patriotism of any prosperous country.

Decisions regarding the makeup of classes, pre-exam obligations, and exam schedules will be made by the Teaching-Artistic-Scientific Council of the Faculty after the end of student blockades and the creation of conditions for regular classes, striving to accommodate students to the maximum extent.
