Biljana Radovanović Brkanović, MMus
Ms Biljana Radovanović Brkanović is a Professor at Department for Conducting at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, Serbia. Her artistic and teaching career lasts uninterrupted for over 25 years. Especially impressive is the breadth of her involvement into the subject matter and musical heritage in general. She is not tied to any orchestra type exclusively, working with choirs (Collegium Musicum, Obilić), ensembles (The Ensemble for New Music, etc.) and orchestras alike (Belgrade Philharmonics, RTS Symphonic Orchestra, Camerata Serbica). The very insight into the list of her projects clearly shows the scope and style diversity of her conducting repertoire.
The ensembles she had conducted participated in the most prestigious festivals and events in Serbia, such as BEMUS, The International Review of Composers, International Youth Music Competition, BELEF, Cello Fest, Harp Fest, and other.
Professor Radovanović Brkanović continually performs contemporary Serbian music, raising a public attention for it, and establishing herself as a verified and highly-professional interpreter of the works of Serbian composers. She participated in numerous concerts at the International Review of Composers, and made a number of recordings of the works of Serbian authors.
She has founded new ensembles (ARTE, the New Music Ensemble) gathering excellent musicians, and most importantly, achieving the exceptional music results highly-appreciated by both experts and general public.
Some of her more important visits, tours and festivals include those in Greece, Poland, Austria, Italy, Spain, France, Belgium, Hungary, Bulgaria, Romania, Belorussia, Russia, USA, Canada, China, Mongolia, Netherlands, Montenegro, Croatia, Republic of Srpska, etc.ка.
Professor Radovanović Brkanović has recorded with Belgrade Film Orchestra music for several films for Universal and Warner Brothers (USA).
