Dr. Milena Shushulova
Dr. Milena Shushulova has obtained her magister title in piano from National Music Academy “Pancho Vladigerov” in Sofia, and defended her doctoral thesis in the field of music performance, management in music and relations with audiences at the New Bulgarian University in Sofia.
Her main fields of research and teaching are music performance and piano teaching methods, music management, music education in practice, music production and public relations.
She is the author of vast number of articles in national and international journals, along with three monographies, two of which – Музика и публики. Нови концепции за отвореност [Music and the public. New opening concepts] (2016) and Теоретичното наследство на Андрей Стоянов. Източници. Аспекти. Проекции [Andrei Stoyanov theoretical heritage: outcomes, aspects, projections] (2008), awarded a prestigious award Book of the year by Association of Bulgarian composers.
In the last 10 years she participated in more than 250 national and international projects in the framework of numerous national and EU funds such as the Central Fund for Strategic development, Cultural fund, Sofia City Fund, EU programs such as Erasmus+, Erasmus mundus, Tempus, and others.
She is a member of the musicologist section of the Association of Bulgarian composers, president of the Association of music and dance performers and Association of music teachers in Bulgaria.
Milena Shushulova is founder of award festival “On the wings of music”, active from 2003 until today.
She is a regular jury member of piano festival “Орфеева дарба” [The Gift of Orpheus] organized by the foundation of the same name and Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski”.
