Dragan Sredojević, DMA
Dragan Sredojević has been playing the violin since the age of six. Having graduated from the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, mentored by Prof. Marina Yashvili and Prof. Eduard Grach, he has continued his further education at the Faculty of Music of the University of Belgrade, in the class of Prof. MarijaJokanovic. Currently, he is a PhD student as well as an Assistant Professor at the String Instruments Department.
At the personal invitation of Maestro Valery Gergiev, Dragan continues his career as a soloist of one of the most prestigious orchestras in the world – the MariinskyOrchestra from St. Petersburg, with whom he has made several dozens of CD recordings and performed at the most renowned festivals and concert halls across the globe.
At the young age of twenty-five, along with his concert engagements at the Mariinsky Theatre, he also led the famous London Symphony Orchestra as the youngest Concertmaster, where he performed on tours throughout Europe and had one of his concerts broadcasted by BBC Radio.
Dragan broke through as the leading talent of the younger generations in his youth. He was complimented for his trademark quality sound, technical impeccability and boundless creativity. Besides being the laureate of all the important competitions in Serbia, he was also credited with the Belgrade Angel award, issued by the Serbian Ministry of Culture for artistic excellence.
He has performed in the most eminent halls all over the world, such as: Suntory Hall in Tokyo, Carnegie Hall in New York, the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow, theMariinsky and Bolshoi Theatre, Philharmonie de Paris, Lincoln Centerin Washington D.C., the Victoria Hall in Geneva, the Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv, European Parliament in Brussels, Konzerthaus in Berlin, Gasteig in Munich, Tonhalle in Zurich, the Royal Opera House in Stockholm, etc.
