Maja Mihić, DMA
Maja Mihić studied with professor Ninoslav Živković at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade, Piano Department, where she obtained her bachelor and master degree in Piano performance. She won numerous prizes, mostly in the field of chamber music. As a member of a piano duo, she won several first prizes: the International competition for pianists in Ostuni, Italy (1996), the International competition “Petar Konjović” in Belgrade, Serbia (1996), and the “Roma” piano competition in Italy (1996). She was a semifinalist of the TIM competition (Torneo Internationale di Musica) in 1998. As a member of a chamber ensemble, she won the prize “Concert of the Year”, given by “Muzika klasika” magazine in the year 2012.
Maja Mihić enjoys a varied career as a solo performer, chamber musician and piano accompanist, as well as a professor of obligatory piano. As a chamber musician, Maja Mihić has appeared at various festivals: BELEF (Belgrade Summer Festival) in 2000, NIMUS (Niš music festival) in 2012, “Tisin cvet” in Novi Kneževac, Serbia in 2012, 2013 and 2014, Ostuni summer festival in 1996, Medjunarodna tribina kompozitora (The International Review of Composers) in 2012 and 2015. Since year 2011, Maja Mihić has developed a special interest for contemporary music. Together with violinist Madlen Stokić Vasiljević and clarinetist Miloš Nikolić, she founded a trio named “Pokret” (mouvement, motion), dedicated to Serbian contemporary music. Since 2013, Maja Mihić has given numerous recitals with the renowned Serbian cellist, Nemanja Stanković.
