Melita Benčić
Melita Benčić was born in 1969 in Novi Sad. She graduated from the Piano Department of the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, in the class of full professor Arbo Valdma. She completed specialized studies for chamber music at the Faculty of Music in the class of full professor Olivera Đurđević.
From 1993 she worked in the Academy of Arts in Novi Sad as a collaborative pianist at the Wind instruments Department. Since 1997 she has worked as a collaborative pianist at the Faculty of Music at the Wind instruments Department, and since 2014 she is holding the position of Senior collaborative pianist, currently working with the trombone and horn players. She received an Acknowledgement of the FMA in 2012 for extraordinary achievements.
She has given numerous recitals and concerts with chamber ensembles. As a piano accompanist, she has performed at home and abroad (France, Bulgaria, Hungary, Montenegro, and other), mostly with brass players.
She was an official accompanist at the 27th International Competition of Musical Youth in Belgrade for the category of clarinet. As a piano collaborator she accompanied the students at the republic and state competitions, as well as in the international competition “Petar Konjović” and “Davorin Jenko”.
Her biography was included in the Music Breviary of Novi Sad (A. Eberst, 1994) and Encyclopedia of Novi Sad (1996). At the II, XII and XIV International Workshop for Wind Instruments in Tivat (2004,2012, and 2014) she was the accompanist for wind instruments.
