Srdjan Palačković, DMA
• Born on 25th October 1968
• Graduated with distinction at Faculty of Music, University of Arts in Belgrade in 1994
• Completed postgraduate studies at Faculty of Music, University of Arts in Belgrade in 1998
• Completed PhD studies in Music at Faculty of Music, University of Arts in Belgrade in 2016
• Percussionist in Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, 1990-1992.
• Solo Timpanist in Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, 1992-2009.
• Solo Timpanist in Montenegrin Symphonic Orchestra from 2009
• Professor of percussion in secondary music schools in Belgrade and Novi Sad, since 1994.
• Assistant at the Percussion and chamber music department of the Faculty of Music in Belgrade since 1999 (part time)
• Professor of percussion at Academy of Arts in Novi Sad, since 2003. (part time)
• Employed as assistant professor at Percussion and chamber music department of the Faculty of Music in Belgrade since 2009.
• Founder and member of Duo “Belgrade Percussionists”, the only professional percussion ensemble in Serbia.
• Founder of International Music Competition for Percussion instruments “Stevan Strunjašević” – Belgrade, Serbia
As a performing artist, he’s working intensively within his various marimba recitals to promote marimba as a solo concert instrument. He was appeared as a guest in numerous radio and television programmes specialised for classical music. His repertoire includes: K. Abe, N. J. Živković, M. Ptaszynska, H. Genzmer, F. Dupin, M. Halt, J. Beck, W. Tharichan, E. Glennie, N. Rosauro, E, Seyourne, and many other.
Srđan Palačković collaborated as a percussionist with many Serbian orchestras and well-known ensembles of chamber music. Also he cooperated with the most significant Serbian musicians, and was invited to perform in several concert-productions.
Duo “Belgrade Percussionists” performed many well-visited concerts, recorded promotional CD and also recorded few live concerts for Serbian National television broadcasting.
“Belgrade Percussionists” Duo repertoire includes works of J. S. Bach, F. Mendelssohn, M. Ravel, B. Bartok, K. Abe, M. Miki, A. Koppel, P. Smadbeck, N. J. Živković, and many more.
