Veljko Nenadić

Assistant in the field of Composition - compositional-technical disciplines

Veljko Nenadić (b. 1998) studied composition at the Faculty of Music in Belgrade under the guidance of Isidora Žebeljan and completed master’s degree with Draško Adžić, under whose supervision he is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in composition. Since 2021, he has been studying organ with Maja Smiljanić-Radić at the same institution.

He has won over 50 awards at composition festivals, including notable distinctions such as first place at the 6th International Competition of Choral Composition Ennio Morricone, victory at the Bartók World Composition Competition 2022 in Hungary, first place at the Luigi Nono Composition Competition in Italy, the win at the Jeunesses Musicales International Composer Competition in Belgium, first place at the New Music Generation Composer Competition in Kazakhstan, and a special prize at the Czech Radio Competition for New Organ Music, among others. Renowned figures in composition such as John Corigliano, Unsuk Chin, Ennio Morricone, Tristan Murail, Mark Andre, and Ivan Fedele have awarded his compositions, which have been performed by prominent international soloists and orchestras. His works have been performed and broadcast at concerts and music festivals across Europe, including in the Netherlands, Belgium, Italy (at the 68th International Rostrum of Composers in Palermo), Austria, Finland, Russia, Hungary, Norway, Slovenia, Croatia, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as in the United States and Africa. His music has been recorded by labels such as Challenge Records, Brilliant Classics, WMAS Records, and Sequoia. His compositions are published by Donemus, while individual works have been printed by Editio Musica Budapest, Da_sh Music from Spain, Compozitor Publishing House from Russia, and the Music Publishing House of Czech Radio.

In addition to his composition work, he regularly performs as a pianist and organist, presenting both his own music and works by other composers, with a focus on contemporary composers. He was named Composer of the Year for 2022 by Muzika Klasika magazine.
