Vladimir Cvijić, DMA
Vladimir Cvijić is an associate professor in the Piano Department, Faculty of Music Arts, University of Arts Belgrade. He received his D.A. (Doctor in Arts) in 2012 from the Faculty of Music Arts, University of Arts Belgrade.
Vladimir is a laureate of a number of national and international competitions, including the “Grand Prix Claude Kahn” prize on the international competition “Claude Kahn” in Paris (1996). He also received award from “Emil Hajek” fund within Faculty of Music Arts, and October Award of the City of Belgrade.
Vladimir participated in major festivals in the country and region such as BEMUS, NIMUS, “Days of Culture” in Vrnjacka banja, “Vladimir Milosevic” festival in Banja Luka, “City Theatre” in Budva, “Skopje Summer” festival, and “Ohrid Summer” festival. He appeared as soloist with the Belgrade Philharmonic Orchestra, RTS Symphony Orchestra, Nis Symphony Orchestra, Chamber Orchestra “Dušan Skovran“, Serbian Chamber Orchestra, St. George Strings, a chamber quartet “Bacchus” from Salzburg, and collaborated with conductors such as Darinka Matić Marović, Bojan Sudjic, Angel Šurev, Yuri Aliev, Jordan Dafov, Vinsen Montey, Anatoly Novitzki. Vladimir also made a number of recordings for RTS, and two CDs with minimalistic music composed by Vladimir Tošić.
From 1999 to 2002, Vladimir Cvijić was a president of “Young EPTA”, Yugoslavian branch of the European Piano Teachers Association. He participated in a number of national music projects (the most important Anthology of Serbian piano music in 2000). Vladimir was one of the cofounders, and president (2002 until today) of the “Association of Pianists Serbia”. The Association organized several noticeable projects, including “Rachmaninoff 2003” and “Saint-Saens 2005”. From 2010 to 2013 he was a member of the Supervisory Board, and from 2013 to 2015 chairmen of the Steering Committee of Jugokoncert, former cultural institution of Belgrade.
